I don't think the concrete mixed very well. Even fast setting I would have mixed before filling the hole.

Weirdly a lot of weight was absorbed by the beaches. Usually the tree is more dead so the live branches can absorb quite a lot of force. Still amazing. The posts must be half in ground and there’s actual load ability on the lateral too

Anytime someone says pour “cement”, stop listening. Cement is an ingredient in concrete, in construction it’s equal to saying you gotta pour some sand.

There is no way that putting pressure on a spinning blade like that is ever a good idea. But I only have experience as a cabinet maker, barely ever use a table saw right.

Putting wood into concrete usually results in the cracking of the concrete due to swelling during wet seasons. A rock quarrying technique used before modern equipment was to drill holes along the crack line for the stone block and pound wooden pegs into the holes then soak the area causing the wood to expand till a crack develops separating the stone block from the mass. Once a crack develops in your pier more water comes in to accelerate deterioration of the fence post. This may take several seasons but eventually result in the failure of the post and pier.

Jeff is anything but a professional. He typically does more things wrong than right. Watching his videos is like looking at a car wreck. And when it comes to safety gear.... Jeff is nowhere to be found. I doubt he even owns a pair of safety glasses. If you don't think product is splattering off that fence into his face while using that stiff brush, I've got a bridge to sell you. And I have never seen anything so ludicrous as him trying to stir the stain with that 2x4 and splashing it all over. Joe, you are much to kind when reviewing his videos.

If you are looking to Jeff from Home RenoVision DIY to guide you through a project, you are in trouble. To describe him as a buffoon would be giving him too much credit. It seems like every one of his videos has more mistakes than the last. Using the Camo system to toenail screws into the board will unequivocally and unarguably result in less structural integrity than screwing or nailing straight into the board. Why he tried to have you take this video down is laughable when you take into account that he has so many other seriously flawed instructional videos.

Seems like building a gate might be a challenge though with the feather edge style. Hinges might look a bit odd not laying flat. Trying to imagine how I would do that with the fence I'm building now. Not sure.

I have used the foam, not a fan. Tried it on 2 posts decided to switch to quick set concrete post set. Also the use of post savers is great. A little extra time but well worth it.

I hate everything pallet-built. At least that fad has lost popularity over time.

I just have an issue with the stability issue of the metal posts. Seen one video where they can bend the post either way with just their body weight.

A ratchet strap in a 8 ft long 2 x 4 is all you need.

Wood expands and contracts and when temperatures change it can create gaps where the concrete was poured. If water gets into the cracks it will seep into the post cavity and rot the wood. I have built miles of fence and only use concrete on steel posts. This also varies on where you live. A place that have a lot of moisture won’t really make a difference. If you put a wooden post 4 feet in the ground there is no reason to use concrete. Save your money.
